Multinational insurance superstars celebrated at Axco’s inaugural Global Insurance Awards

In a glittering ceremony at the Hilton Bankside in London hosted by comedian Maisy Adams, winners across 10 different categories were announced at the first Axco global Insurance Awards.

Designed to celebrate the best that the multinational insurance business has to offer, competition for the shortlist of entries was very strong. The finalists, from a wide range of businesses, all scored highly against our judging criteria of Ambition, Excellence, Innovation, Impact, and Customer Experience. Our panel of independent judges had a difficult time choosing from the many entries showcasing examples of excellence from across the market.

Mark Trumper, Axco’s Managing Director, said: “As an independent provider of objective information to the industry, Axco has a long history of helping our clients as they manage some of the most complex risks by building robust global insurance programmes. There is great work being done in this space by talented individuals and these awards will help shine a light on those excelling in cross border operations, and the innovative solutions emerging in the industry."

External Advisory of the Year

Christopher Hill of Clyde & Co won External Advisor of the Year, with our judges highlighting his expertise in navigating the fast-changing sanctions landscape is of great value to the industry.

Training Initiative of the Year

Travelers and their Global Insurance Education Hub took home our Training Initiative of the Year award. 

Rising Star Award

The Axco Awards were all about celebrating excellence, and nothing exemplifies excellence like the Rising Star Award. Congratulations to Eleina Weisbrod of Marsh, who took home the award through her dedication to supporting others and delivering value to her clients.

Global Underwriting Team of the Year

Congratulations to Newline Group, whose excellent team managed to stand out among a host of extremely impressive applicants. Impressing our judges with their understanding of the industry and technology, allowing them to offer tailored policies that could adapt to the evolving needs of their clients.

Technology Partner of the Year

CyberCube took the Technology Partner of the Year award home! They combined the expertise of their communities, to deliver exciting new resolutions in a growing risk area effectively and with commendable collaboration.

Technology Adoption of the Year

Technology Adoption of the years was Eelseco limited whose ATOM Platform highlights the organization's focus on customer experience and improving industry standards. The team demonstrated dedication & hard work to overcome technical challenges, resulting in success.

Innovation Award

The  Innovation Award went to SwissRe, GuyCarpenter  and ICEYE. Their novel approach is a clear example of collaboration and innovation in the insurance industry, resulting in the creation of exciting new solutions.

Global Insurance Recruitment Firm of the Year   

The Global Recruitment Firm of the Year is IDEX Consulting who’s commitment to excellence and their willingness to think outside of the box to achieve success in a difficult market make them exemplary in this field.

Global Individual of the Year

Tom Schilling, Global Services and Solutions Leader, US West Region Leader at WTW is our Global Individual of the Year. The judges recognized his demonstrated passion, commitment and expertise he brings to his role.

Global Insurance Team of the Year

The final award of the evening was the Global Insurance Team of the Year won by the team at Generali Global Corporate & Commercial, whose clear commitment to both the customer and the broker ensures their exemplary customer experience.
